Confused by Executive Compensation? OMB requesting comments through September 12!

For those of you who follow NCMA Collaborate topics, you may have noticed that there was a recent discussion (https://collaborate.ncmahq.org/discussion/executive-compensation-reporting) related to Executive Compensation.  The back-and-forth highlighted some of the confusion that Primes and first-tier Subs face regarding this subject.  The wording leaves room for interpretation, which typically means that Primes take a conservative approach and request more than they perhaps should.

If you find the requirements to be unclear, take a minute and provide feedback to the OMB through their request for comments here:

Some suggestions:

  1. Focus on perceived ambiguities.  For example, you might say something like this (hint, hint…)
  2. Do not comment on how awful (or wonderful, I guess…) you feel the requirement is.  It’s a matter of law and no commentary has the power to change it.
  3. Do not comment on whether the average reported requirement of 2 hours per month is accurate for providing reports.  This part is settled and it is what it is.

You have until September 12th. Providing a comment takes just a few minutes and it might simplify your monthly reporting process!

While we’re on the topic, you should also know that SpendLogic includes a report generation engine that allows you to pull and report on anything included in the system.  Want to get a quick list of which purchase orders were released last month in excess of $30K, the recipient, their contract numbers, and their values?  SpendLogic can do that!
